8702-97. This picture was originally captioned "On the road to Otter Rock, North of Yaquina Head Light." It shows draymen with their teams transporting visitors to the many campsites and lodgings that proliferated along Lincoln county coastal beaches. This site is presently named Moolack Beach. The camera is looking south at Yaquina Head lighthouse in the background. This photo was taken by Oregonian photographer Clyde McMonagle on an assignment by Southern Pacific Railroad. He photographed the Newport area for a promotional booklet that was co-published by SPRR and the Newport Commercial Club in 1912 titled "Newport, Oregon, An Ideal Year Round Resort."
